- 作品解説: 穏やかな流れの川を岸と同じ程度の割合の大きさで描いている。山や民家などの遮るものがなく、大地の広がりを感じさせる構成である。目を引く鮮やかな色彩でごまかさず、実直に風景画に取り組む真摯な柏亭の姿が浮かんでくる。タイトルは仮に《川岸》としていたが、1957年の柏亭存命中に出版された単行本『石井柏亭』（美術書院刊）に掲載図版が見つかったため、その書籍に掲載のタイトルと制作年代に修正した。Description: A gently flowing river is depicted in the same proportion and size as the shore. The composition is unobstructed by mountains or houses, giving the viewer a sense of the expanse of the land. The artist's sincere and honest approach to landscape painting comes to mind, as he does not cheat with eye-catching, vivid colors. The title of the painting was tentatively "Riverside," but as the illustration was found in the book "Ishii Kashiwatei" (published by Bijutsu Shoin), which was published in 1957 during Kashiwatei's lifetime, the title and production date in that book have been changed.
