- 作品解説: この作品が制作された1961年は、銀座の路上で絵を売っていたところ、彫刻家の本郷新に見いだされ、兜屋画廊の西川武郎と知遇を得、援助を受けて2年の間に油彩画を300点近く描いた時期にあたる。合板に白い地塗りを施し、その後、クレヨンであろうか、普通の油絵具にはない彩度のある色彩が下に使われ、完成作の隙間から顔をのぞかせていて、それが美を感じさせる。Description: In 1961, when this work was created, he was selling paintings on the streets of Ginza when he was discovered by sculptor Arata Hongo and made the acquaintance of Takeo Nishikawa of Kabutoya Gallery, who assisted him in creating nearly 300 oil paintings over a two-year period. He painted a white ground coat on plywood, then used a saturated color underneath, perhaps crayon, that is not found in ordinary oil paints, and it peeks out from between the cracks of the finished work, giving it a sense of beauty.
