- 作品解説: 東京の自宅が戦災に遭い、疎開した信州にて描かれた。裏面木枠に昭和二十二年十二月とあり、春景色を思い浮かべながら 12 月に完成させたのか、あるいは春ごろに取り掛かって 12 月に完成させたのか、スケッチブックや他の作品を参照しながら 12 月に描いたのかは不明である。目の細かいキャンヴァスを使用して、滑らかなタッチの風景に仕上げている。Description: Painted in Shinshu, Japan, where the artist was evacuated after his home in Tokyo was damaged in the war. The wooden frame on the reverse side of the painting is dated December 1947. It is unclear whether the artist completed the work in December while contemplating the spring scenery, or whether he started the work in spring and completed it in December, or whether he painted the work in December while referring to his sketchbook and other works. The artist used fine-grained canvas to give the landscape a smooth touch.
