- 作品解説: 渓谷の旅館街が描かれている。山々の形や旅館の立地状況から、写生地は湯河原ではないかと思われる。茶色の旅館とほぼ同じ高さから水平に遠方の山々へと視線を向ける方法は、北宋の画家・郭煕（かくき）が完成させた山水画の構図法「高遠」「深遠」「平遠」のうち「深遠」に通じる奥深さが意識されているように思え、何気ない風景画であっても柏亭の教養を感じてしまう。Description: This work depicts an inn town in a valley. The shape of the mountains and the location of the ryokan suggest that Yugawara was the location of the painting. The way the artist directs the viewer's gaze horizontally into the distant mountains from about the same height as the brown ryokan suggests an awareness of the profundity of the "profundity" of the "landscape" composition methods perfected by the Northern Song Dynasty painter Guo Xi, which are "high distance," "deep distance," and "flat distance.
